Travel isn’t for everyone right now. With Covid basically closing the Earth, any kind of travel can be dicey, even if there are some great deals right now. So, this is the year to enjoy a nice staycation at your home! Having a vacation at your house is simple, fun, and cheap! And you can avoid risky travel while still enjoying yourself! So, unpack your bags and read my top five tips for enjoying your staycation!
Unplug
Vacations are a time to enjoy yourself. So, make sure to do just that. Tell work you’re unavailable and stay away from your email and phone. This way, you can truly enjoy your vacation, without feeling like you’re still on-call for work. However, if you enjoy electronics such as videogames and TV, you can still enjoy them! Just remember to schedule other activities to help break up your days and enjoy your vacation.
Check Your Local Area
Can you believe most New Yorkers never see the sights in their home city? This might be true for you too, so check your local area for activities and local points of interest you can tour. Check out that war monument, go to that flea market, explore that nature preserve. You’re sure to find something that interests you within driving distance. But don’t forget to take some time for yourself to relax!
Splurge on Your Hobby
By staying at home, you’re already saving a ton of money. So, take that money, and splurge on something you enjoy, whether it’s a new videogame, an outfit you’ve been eyeing for a while, or something you enjoy doing but don’t get to do often, like eating out at a fancy restaurant. Use some money to do something you enjoy.
Spend Time with Friends
If you plan well, you and your friends can enjoy your staycations together to do activities, explore your area, or even just hang out. If it doesn’t work out, you can still find some time to spend together that still fits both of your schedules. So, take some time to enjoy with your friends and family, whether it’s doing something special, or just do want you normally do.
Do What You Enjoy
You don’t have to think to hard about what you want to do for your staycation. Just do what you do for fun at home, videogames, reading, spending time with pets, let your hobbies and desires speak for themselves. This is time to spend on yourself, doing what you want to do, like catching up on your favorite shows, or shopping at the mall.
These are my tips for having a great staycation, so if you don’t want to travel, this is the time for some relaxing vibes at home. Staycations are a great way to relax while avoiding the pandemic, so this might be the year to sit back and enjoy everything your home has to offer.
