Day 3: NOMA and the Streetcars

I started today by going to Two Chick Cafe and eating some eggs benedict. Then I made my way to Canal Street to take the city’s street cars to my destination the New Orleans Museum of Art.

Those who want to take the street cars, keep in mind their slower than the busses, and there’s fewer of them running.

I made it the the art museum and took my time exploring the different wings, from their Renaissance collection, to the contemporary wing. I would recommend anyone visiting New Orleans to stop by, especially since they have a new Egyptian exhibition happening soon.

Then I stopped by Cafe Du Monde and try their world famous beignets. I was still licking my fingers when I enter the sculpture garden behind NOMA.

It was filled with thought provoking sculptures of all shapes and sizes. Its completely free, so make sure to stop in when you visit the museum.

I briefly stopped by St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 before going back on the street cars. After waiting a while (like an hour when their supposed to run every twenty minutes) I boarded and went back down Canal Street to the stop nearest to my hotel.

I ate some seafood gumbo at Fiery Crabs restaurant before heading back to my hotel.

Of course, it’s not over yet. Tonight I plan on heading up to my hotels rooftop lounge and take in the sights one more time before I leave tomorrow. Its been one heck of a trip, but at the same time, it’ll be nice to get back home.
