Why Now is a Good Time to Go to the Beach

Covid-19 has taken over our lives as travelers don’t have many international options for travel. That being said, U.S. citizens don’t need to leave their country to find dazzling beaches. While Hawaii, and Puerto Rico require negative Covid tests and quarantine periods, states like Texas, California, and Florida do not. When travelling, ensure you follow all laws and regulations regarding Covid-19 to avoid exposing yourself or others. Read up on your dream beach destination and prepare accordingly. So why travel now? Prices have never been cheaper. The Covid crisis has cut the number of travelers and coupled with beaches going into the shoulder and off season, the best time to book a beach vacation is now. These deals are quite literally, once in a lifetime, and you can beat the crowds at the same time. Below I list the best tips for booking and travelling to your best beach vacation.

Be Flexible

Covid-19 has really messed with airports, but if you’re willing to be flexible with your dates and destination, you can get the best deals. You can travel to Fort Lauderdale for a little as $63! The same goes for hotels, but before you pick your destination look at the hotel deals and think about what you want, but a cheap airfare usually indicates cheap hotels. Shop around to find your ideal deal.

Or you could go one step further and take a road trip to your destination. None of the hassle of dealing with an airport, just the open road and beachy goodness. This can be a cheaper alternative to flying and can mesh well depending on how close you are to the beach you want to visit. If you’re landlocked, you may want to consider travelling to lake beach rather than drive all the way to the coast. There are plenty of lakes to choose from in more southern area where the weather will agree with you. However and wherever you choose to travel, check the hotels and book ahead of time to get the best deals.

Travel Light

To avoid hassle and extra fees, I always recommend travelling light. A couple of swimsuits and some towels is all you really need to enjoy the beach The more luggage you have the more it’ll cost you in transportation, not to mention you can probably just rent surfboards, boogie boards, umbrellas, water toys, and sand toys at the beach. And you can get a disposable cooler for cheap. Try to limit yourself to one carry-on when flying, and one trunkful when driving, and you can enjoy the beach just as much if you brought an umbrella, two coolers, and a surfboard. Make sure you save room in your luggage to bring back souvenirs!

Find Activities at Your Destination

When travelling, never miss the local sights. Research what you can do and where you can visit for your destination, and plan accordingly to get the most out of your vacation. A lot of regional activities are running deals right now due to the decrease in travelers. Take advantage by booking ahead of time and budget your time accordingly, whether it’s a spa day, a trip to the nearby national park, or a surf lesson.

Do your Research

Travelling to your favorite beach destination won’t be much fun if everything is in lockdown, so read up and the Covid-19 restrictions and what’s open in your destination. Remember to stay informed about news and plan your vacation accordingly.

With all this in mind you’re now ready to enjoy a wonderful trip to the beach while saving tons of money. Whether you want a weekend getaway, or are planning a three-week dreamcation, now is the time to pack up your bags and head to the beach.
