New Orleans: Spontaneous Trip During Mardi Gras

Recently, I’ve had the good fortune of finding great airline prices and hotel prices, so next week I’m heading to New Orleans for three days. And Mardi Gras is perhaps the best time to visit New Orleans and take in the culture.

Mardi Gras is a celebration that goes from the Twelfth Night to Fat Tuesday or the day before Lent. This year it runs from January 6th to March 6th, and I’ll be visiting smack in the middle of it. Unfortunately, no parades will be happening while I’m there, but I’m going to make the most of the three days I have and enjoy New Orleans to the fullest.

I’ll be exploring the French Quarter, the New Orleans Museum of Art, Art Galleries, and churches. I will try and fit the most of New Orleans I can into this short, spontaneous trip.

I’ll be posting updates on my social media, so follow me to stay posted for live updates and photos. I’ll write a short blog post after each day recapping what I did and a feature blog post after I return from my trip (perhaps even on the flight home). I’ll arrive in New Orleans on the 8th and leave on the 12th, and I’ll be staying at The Troubadour Hotel, so stay posted for future updates!
